Hello and welcome! I’m Kate, and my husband and I are the proud owners of Willowbank Shepherds Hut. It’s our little slice of country paradise, nestled within the grounds of our small farm just outside the beautiful town of Taunton.
We moved here in 2016, drawn by the rolling fields, tranquil river views, and the dream of a slower, more grounded lifestyle. Shortly after settling in, my husband (the handy one!) built the hut with love and care - a cosy, one-of-a-kind retreat designed to make the most of the stunning views. My father even got stuck in, helping us prepare the land so we could create something truly special.
Over the past eight years, we’ve poured our hearts into Willowbank, and we’re proud to now welcome guests who want to experience the same peace and charm that made us fall in love with this place.
While you may feel a world away when you’re here, we’re just a short distance from the historic market town of Taunton. Rich in heritage, surrounded by open countryside, and nestled in the heart of Somerset, Taunton is a beautiful place to explore.
Take a stroll through Vivary Park, wander the charming high street shops, or treat yourself to a bite to eat at one of the many independent cafés and restaurants. Outdoor lovers will find no shortage of walking and cycling routes, with the Quantock Hills and Blackdown Hills both nearby - perfect for day hikes and breathtaking views.

a beautiful, peaceful shepherds hut in North Curry. I hightly recommend staying here! so peaceful, quiet and well equipped. We loved the little extras that Kate supplied us with such as eggs, milk, biscuits and even disposable slippers. One of the most comfortable beds we've ever stayed in. The hot tub was lovely and got warm very quickly once the wood was fired up. We would love to come and stay again. Thank you Kate xx
Me and my husband stayed here for our wedding anniversary and we were looking for peace, quiet, with lovely views. Kate's place exceeded expectations, we were not expecting such a beautiful night's sky, the hot tub was amazing, hut was cosy but very comfortable and Kate was always on hand with any queries. She supplied little thoughtful extras which were a real treat. It was definitely the romantic retreat we were looking for. We will be back!
We had a romantic weekend away for my wife's birthday and I couldn't have asked for more. The hut, land, area is all as stunning as the photos suggest and Kate was the perfect host.
The hot tub was brilliant, very easy to use compared to some wood burner tubs and didn't boil you alive after a while.
The location is ideal, it's easily as quiet and secluded as areas of Wales but then only 15 minutes from th main road so allot easier to get in and out of.
Had a lovely couple of nights recently in the shepherds hut. The hot tub is lovely especially on a starry night. Kate was a great host and very responsive to any messages.
Kate was a great host, friendly helpful very quick to respond to messages, the accommodation/location was perfect, amazing little hideaway.
